Joined Tony's Lineup: In Chapter One, having battled Tony's Charizard, both were knocked out. Tony took the unconscious pokemon to the Pokemon Center in Cherrygrove City to have it healed. Not having any pokeballs, Tony initially planned on letting it go back to the wild, when an unexpected gift of an empty pokeball allowed him to capture Chikorita.

Evolution #1: From Chikorita to Bayleef in Chapter _____ in a battle against Cerulean City's Gym Leader, Sakura.

Evolution #2: From Bayleef to Meganium in Chapter Twenty-Five in the battle against Agatha of the Elite Four.
